“PrintFactory has been a game-changer for our business”
Robert Farfort, CEO and Founder of Data Image
What were you using before PrintFactory at Data Image?
When we started, our first printer came with its own RIP vendor. As our business grew, we needed additional printers with different technologies to meet customer demands. Each new printer came with a different RIP, and before we knew it, we were dealing with multiple RIP vendors. This created challenges—first, in training our staff on several RIPs, and second, in consistency. The same file processed by different RIPs would give us different results.
So, we decided to standardize on one RIP vendor, which simplified our training, improved consistency in color management, and resolved issues with transparency handling. That solution worked well for years.
However, as we progressed, we realized we needed more connectivity, improved color management, and faster technological advancements than our current RIP vendor could offer. We started looking for a new solution and chose PrintFactory due to its open architecture and fantastic API, which made the switch easy. The simplicity of its color management was also a major advantage.
What changed after implementing PrintFactory?
PrintFactory’s cloud connectivity and API allowed us to drive real efficiencies within our business. Many users may use PrintFactory hands-on, but at Data Image, we focus on automating repetitive tasks on the shop floor. PrintFactory excels at this, seamlessly integrating with our workflow and MIS systems.
Another big advantage was PrintFactory’s true client-server architecture, which simplified deployment. Instead of maintaining individual RIP stations, we now manage everything centrally with a centralized RIP and client interface. Additionally, we no longer need multiple Adobe CS licenses for file analysis, as PrintFactory’s layout and editor tools cover those needs.
Would you recommend PrintFactory?
Absolutely. While PrintFactory gives us a competitive advantage, it’s only fair to share the benefits with others. Beyond the product, the team behind it provides exceptional service and support. They listen to feature requests and implement them, which ensures the software evolves with our business needs. So yes, we’d highly recommend PrintFactory, not just for the product, but for the team and the ongoing support.
